From the company's website:
"June 28, 2007Veggie Booty Product Recall Information
Robert’s American Gourmet has been alerted to a recent outbreak of salmonella and the potential contamination of Veggie Booty. Due to the serious nature of the health risk, Robert’s has decided to temporarily stop the manufacture and sale of Veggie Booty ONLY until test results can positively identify the source. We stand by our snacks and hope to resume making Veggie Booty shortly. Please note: this product recall is for Veggie Booty ONLY."

The company states that you should dispose of the product.DON"T!!!

Think about it! If you our your child has been sickened by the product and you throw out the product, what evidence will you have to prove that their product caused the illness?

This is standard legal counsel given to these companies whose products have been contaminated and caused harm.

Any good legal counsel would tell you the consumer, that they should preserve any evidence ,not throw it out!

I personally would place the product in a large Zip Lock style plastic bag and place in a refrigerator until several weeks have passed. If some one in your house becomes ill you will now have proof to collect damages for medical expenses and suffering.

Salmonella can be deadly to children and ill adults!I would wait before disposing of the remaining products.

This is a good time to contact all the companies that you buy packaged foods consumed by you and your children to inquire:

  • as to the country of origin of all ingredients
  • Location of their plants
  • Methods and Controls used to assure Food Quality

As a case in point,a large peanut butter "manufacturer" shut down a plant that had a massive roof leak and mold problems. If you had personally visited the plant and inspected it,you probably wouldn't have continued to buy their products, after your visit and before the recall occurred.

Where is the love and care for us the customers.I am a capitalist, not a money hungry immoral criminal. The peanut butter company, that didn't want to maintain the sanitary standards of its food facilities in order to save "Money", wound up losing 10's of millions of dollars, beside costing some of their customers their health.

The answer to Mankind's challenges is not more laws,it is "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."I add that "The fear of God is the beginning of all wisdom".

We could call for more government food health inspectors, but what if the inspectors take bribes and don't enforce the law?

I worked everyday, for 29 years,in a business where the health and well being of my customers was in my hands.I did for them what was right ,not necessarily what they wanted or laws required ,but what my knowledge and experience told me was the right thing to do,even when it cost me.I was not concerned about what man said,I feared what God would demand of me if I placed the health, safety and welfare of the others, whom I served, in jeopardy.

People who cheered the denouncing of the Christian civilization, that America once was,now are reaping what they sowed.

If people believe that they don't and won't ever account for what they do,say and think ,why should they care about whether your food is safe?

If you believe that the only reason that people do things is for money, you, are the problem.

Here is one of life's "secrets",No one ever does anything for Money.
